Pre rollout

  1. Familiarise yourself with the MOE web community.
  2. Talk with your principal about your school's readiness to deploy the MOE.
  3. Confirm the scheduled MOE rollout date and plan the rollout with your principal.
  4. Asset and mark all computer equipment.
  5. Update all School Information Management System (SiMS) data for staff and students.
  6. Consider how you will do business during the rollout.
  7. Clean and back up all personal and school data.
  8. Record details about where you print and save data.
  9. List the software programs you need for day-to-day operations.
  10. Print the information you need while the network/computers are down.

During rollout

  1. Confirm you have all printed information before the rollout commences.
  2. Communicate how you will be working with deployment staff.
  3. Provide support to test whether your software is working as expected.
  4. Input updated information into SiMS as soon as it is available.
  5. Run some reports and confirm your data is valid, within SiMS.
  6. Print a document and make sure all software programs are working.
  7. Access your data and programs, and confirm you can do business.
  8. Check whether your email works.
  9. Help other staff with ICT tasks if their computers are not yet installed.
  10. Recheck that you can access your software and files before the deployment team finishes at your school.

Post rollout

  1. Always keep SiMS staff and student data up-to-date.
  2. Register with the Service Centre.
  3. Log all jobs with the Service Centre.
  4. Maintain open lines of communication about all issues.
  5. Identify issues early so they can be fixed during the MOE warranty period.
  6. Buy all new ICT equipment from PSA 103.1.
  7. Keep records of all software purchases in the one location.
  8. Develop a guide on where your data is kept at your school.
  9. Maintain an effective ICT replacement management plan.
  10. Ensure new equipment has clearly marked asset numbers.
