What is it?
The Smart Classrooms Regional Teacher Awards recognise teachers who have made significant progress in making ICT integral to learning and who are committed to ongoing professional development.
Three awards are presented in each of Queensland's seven regions. Winners are identified through local processes which are managed by the Regional Technology Managers.
Each winner receives a $1500 professional development grant that can be used to attend conferences or courses that extend their understanding of applying ICT in education.
The Smart Classrooms Regional Teacher Awards are presented annually on World Teachers' Day. World Teachers' Day is marked internationally on October 5 but Queensland celebrates on the last Friday of October due to school holidays.
