A forgotten password is hassle. However, it need not be anymore.

Overview

Identity Management is a complex area covering a diverse range of solutions, services and technical architectures.

Identity Management is an integrated system of business processes, policies and technologies that enables access to Departmental applications and resources, while protecting confidential personal and business information from unauthorised access.

It represents a category of interrelated solutions that are employed to provide user registration, authentication, access rights and restrictions, account profiles, passwords and other attributes required to support a range of entity interactions with Departmental and Queensland Government applications or systems.

The intent of the project is to introduce effective, streamlined security and authentication processes to provide students, teachers, school support staff and parents with secure, simplified access to information and services appropriate to their roles.

In implementing effective Identity Management processes and technologies, the project will ensure state schools comply with the mandatory and best practice standards defined in the Queensland Government policy and position papers covering identity management, authentication and authorisation. These are part of the Government Enterprise Architecture and include target timeframes to deploy processes and supporting technology.
