OurSchool

A window to the future

OurSchool is the first step towards developing OnePortal.

Currently being trialled by Kirwan State High School, Smithfield State High School and Yorkeys Knob State School, OurSchool is an internet portal providing electronic access to key school information. Kirwan State High School played an important role in its development.

Under this pilot, teachers, students, parents and guardians at the participating schools have secure, 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week access to their student's work, progress and achievements, as well as absence and assessment information.

Feedback from the OurSchool pilot has informed part of the development of OnePortal, in particular, remote access to school information and continues to support the expansion of OnePortal functionality.

Security maintained

The OurSchool portal is password protected, maintaining the privacy of school data.

When an account holder logs into the portal, they must enter a username and password. The portal then provides access to information that is unique to each user.

This means students can view their personal timetables, assessment and learning materials around the clock.

Also, teachers gain access to teaching resources, academic results, and enrolment and attendance information about their own students, wherever and whenever they connect to the Internet.
