School ICT Census

This year's ICT School Census has now closed.

A print version (new window) Adobe PDF document of the 2009 census is available for reference.

Overview

Each year, all state schools must complete the School ICT Census. This questionnaire provides data for calculating the annual School ICT Grant and the School ICT Index Reports. It also supports systemic planning and reporting.

Individual schools can use the School ICT Index Reports in the development of their School ICT Plan.

Main objective

The School ICT Census seeks to provide data that supports planning and reporting at both school and systemic levels. Schools can evaluate their progress towards attaining benchmarks and progress towards making ICT integral to learning at the same time as receiving accurate funding and resources to do so.

Achievement of the objective

The Department uses information that is collected through the School ICT Census to:

  • calculate every school's ICT grant allocation
  • report on the statewide implementation of ICT initiatives
  • report on computer usage and connectivity in schools
  • collect information for a range of strategic planning and resourcing issues.
