The department acknowledges the importance of Business Services Managers (BSMs) and Administrative Officers in schools and the vital role they play in enabling improved outcomes for students, and is pleased to offer the Business Services Manager Study Grants program to current and aspiring BSMs across the state.
This offering delivers on the department's commitment to empowering staff to work together to deliver high-quality customer outcomes and building and maintaining a skilled, diverse and capable workforce.
In collaboration with the School Business Managers' Association Queensland (SBMAQ), the BSM Study Grants program will provide funding to support current and aspiring BSMs to complete a Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB51915) or a Diploma of Business (BSB50215) through TAFE Queensland.

The program will adopt a flipped-learning model, designed to extend upon what participants already know and do every day in their role as BSMs or Administration Officers. The model includes:
Workshop locations will be determined based on the number and mix of successful applicants.
The study grants will cover participant enrolment costs, and will be paid direct to TAFE Queensland. Other expenses associated with travel, accommodation and meals as required will be the responsibility of participants' work unit/region/school.
Travel subsidies for regional and remote participants will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
