Employee groups

The department's workforce is the largest in the Queensland Government and its composition is diverse, including the school workforce and regional and central office staff.

At 30 June 2015, the department employed 83,984 people, approximately 33% of the employment total for the Queensland Government.

The teaching workforce comprises approximately 42,342 FTEs in 1,234 schools across Queensland.

The department employs teachers, school leaders, teacher aides, public servants and executive leaders.

The information available under the following employee groups is a cross-section of strategies, policies and procedures, standards, programs and initiatives that are applicable to these groups.
