PRMCL33A Plan for safe and efficient cleaning activities
In this unit, we will look at how to identify health and safety hazards in the workplace so that suitable precautions can be taken. We will also look at identifying factors that may require alteration to work schedules and how to select and plan for a suitable work method to ensure that work is completed efficiently and safely. This unit then looks at how to report on variations to work situations and methods that impact on safety or performance.
PRMCL34A Follow relevant OH&S policies and procedures to ensure own safety and that of others
In this unit, we will look at recognising and reporting to designated personnel hazards in the work area. We will then discuss workplace procedures and instructions for controlling risks and dealing with accidents, fire and emergencies. This unit then deals with occupational health and safety issues and how to contribute to participative arrangements for the management of occupational health and safety.
PRMCL35A Maintain a cleaning storage area
In this unit, we will look at maintaining an area in a clean, tidy and secure condition and how to secure an area from public access in order to secure equipment and prevent unauthorised access to chemicals. We will then look at controlling and maintaining stocks of consumables and the most effective way to maintain and display cleaning site information.
PRMCL01A Maintain hard floor surfaces
In this unit, we will look at how to identify floor type , surface texture, soil type and the size of an area to be maintained. We will then discuss how to select equipment to ensure the type and style is suitable for the surface to be maintained and how to set up equipment according to manufacturers' specifications. This unit then looks at how to sweep surfaces to collect waste, apply a dust mop to a surface to remove fine dust, apply a damp mop to a floor to remove soil, and buff a hard floor to improve its appearance. The final part of this unit looks at how to dispose of collected waste and clean and store equipment.
PRMCL02A Restore hard floor finish
In this unit, we will look at how to identify floor type, texture, condition and restore floor condition. We will then look at selecting and setting up equipment and how to set up furniture and fittings on a site. We will then discuss the correct procedure for scrubbing floors, applying a dust mop to surfaces to remove fine dust and polishing or spray buffing surfaces. This unit then looks at how to restore a work area to its original layout and how to clean and store equipment.
PRMCL04A Maintain soft floor
In this unit, we will then look at how to identify the type and condition of a soft floor and how to determine suitable methods for the type and condition of soft floor. We will then look at how to remove waste appropriately and vacuum any remaining waste where necessary. We will then discuss the correct procedure for raking and sweeping soft surfaces to remove inground waste and how to clean and store equipment.
PRMCL09A Wash and squeegee glass surfaces to remove all visible dirt and grime
In this unit, we will look at how to set up a site for glass cleaning and ensure all obstructions are removed. We will then discuss how to select and prepare glass cleaning equipment and prepare the glass surface by checking for defects and removing any soil from the glass surface. We will also look at how to apply washing and squeegee equipment to a glass surface and how to clean up and restore a site to its original condition. The final part of this unit deals with cleaning and storing equipment, cleaning agents, polishes and cloths.
PRMCL15A Maintain furniture and fittings and dress an area or room
In this unit, we will look at assessing an area to be cleaned and dressed and identifying client requirements for the presentation and layout of the room. We will then discuss selecting and setting up equipment and how to dust surfaces to remove waste where required. We will also look at how to damp wipe furniture and fittings to remove adhered soil, spot clean surfaces and applying polish to restore applicable surfaces. The final part of the unit will focus on cleaning and storing equipment in a manner that is readily accessible to the user.
PRMCL17A Maintain wet area in an odour free, soil and hazard free condition
In this unit, we will look at how to assess an area to be cleaned and set up a work area. Particular emphasis will be placed on selecting materials and equipment that suit the layout of a wet area and handling deodorising chemicals. We will then look at how to remove soil from surface areas and replenish and replace consumable such as paper towels and soaps. The final part of this unit looks at cleaning and storing equipment according to manufacturers' specifications.
PRMCL21A Maintain industrial machinery in a soil free condition
In this unit, we will look at how to identify machinery to be cleaned and report any pre-existing damage to the work site. We will then determine the method of cleaning by identifying the surface types and establishing the availability of suitable drainage for cleaning residues. We will also look at preparing the surfaces for cleaning and removing soil from the machinery. This unit also looks at how to clean and store equipment used for cleaning.
