Behaviour Support

Teacher Aides can access information and courses in behaviour support through the Safe, Supportive and Disciplined Learning Environments website.

This site provides information about key elements of the Department's strategy for providing a safe and supportive learning environment for students and staff in state schools, including:

• The Code of School Behaviour
• Responsible Behaviour Plans for Students
• Behaviour Support Personnel
• Resources and Useful Links

The Department employs 330 full-time-equivalent (FTE) trained behaviour support personnel, including teachers, guidance officers, psychologists, teacher aides and parent liaison officers who are allocated across the state according to school needs.

A course for interested teacher aides is available:

• Essential Skills for Classroom Management - a facilitated course delivered in each region by trained facilitators.
