These qualifications are endorsed for education support workers throughout Australia, are updated regularly and are recognised nationally.
You can find the current courses on the Australian Government My Skills website . This website gives you information about financial assistance as well as any course you are interested in.
Type 'Education Support' into the search field where it asks for Occupation, industry, course name. In the 'Location' field type 'Queensland' and click on 'QLD - Queensland' when it appears. The result will show all three Education Support qualifications.
For each course you will see a link 'View providers'. This lists training organisations delivering the course and gives access to their websites.
Click on the title of the course you are interested in, then the 'Course structure' tab. You will find a list of units of competency included in the course and at the bottom of the page the packaging rules. These rules show which units of competency you must complete (core units) and the range of elective units you may choose from to complete the course.
If you click on the title of a unit of competency you will be able to read the elements and performance criteria. This gives you detail about the learning in the unit and may assist if you are looking for recognition of prior learning or aligning your course with your current role.
You should also check the training providers tab for the unit, as not all providers deliver all units of competency.
