RPL for Professional Development Activities

Professional development programs teacher aides complete may provide evidence for recognition of prior learning (RPL) against Education Support qualifications.

Teacher aides who have completed professional development activities and who wish to use them as evidence need to:

• retain the Statement of Attendance/Participation from the professional development program
• use the knowledge and skills from the program at school
• check the elements and performance criteria of units of competency in their Education Support course for potential links with the program
• discuss with their assessor how best to assemble evidence for a particular unit of competency

The Department of Education and Training encourages teacher aides to consider ways in which professional development experiences may be used to gain credit towards accredited qualifications.
