Developing our Teachers

In line with Advancing education: An action plan for education in Queensland, the department is offering eligible Queensland state school teachers the opportunity to participate in Developing our Teachers professional development (PD) and upskilling courses.

These online courses have been developed, in partnership with higher education institutions, to increase teacher confidence and capability to teach the priority subjects for our students.

STEM professional development and upskilling courses

The Developing our Teachers in STEM initiative aims to build teacher capability and support our teachers to enhance their knowledge, innovate and be confident in their ability to deliver the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) curriculum.

A suite of online STEM professional development opportunities is now available for Queensland state school teachers, to be delivered in collaboration with Griffith University and the Queensland University of Technology.

All course costs will be covered by the department and teachers will be provided with one day of teacher relief scheme (TRS) funding to support them in completing the course.

All courses will include an optional additional assessment piece that may contribute to further postgraduate study. All participants will gain a certificate outlining what has been completed, hours and the alignment to Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.

For more information about these courses, please use the links below or contact the Queensland Education Leadership Institute on 3007 5226. Registrations are currently closed.
