The Professional Development Pathways initiative provides Department of Education, Training and the Arts staff with the opportunity to gain tertiary credit for postgraduate qualifications for undertaking key identified and approved professional development programs and completing an approved assessment task.
The process involves first completing one of the professional development programs that have been approved for inclusion in the initiative. Participants may then decide to complete the formal assessment component, which is then submitted to one of the participating universities for marking. Successful participants are then provided with credit towards a Masters or similar postgraduate degree.
The benefits of participating in this initiative are shared. The initiative benefits the Department by encouraging our staff to build their capacity across key priority areas. Participants benefit by gaining entry to postgraduate study at a cost that is lower than the full fee for university courses.
