Digital Pedagogy Licence (Smart Classrooms)

Overview

The Smart Classrooms Professional Development Framework is a guide for planning professional learning with ICT. The framework is designed for teachers to reflect on and strengthen their beliefs and practices in using ICT for teaching and learning, regardless of which key learning area or phase of learning they teach.

Structure

The framework consists of three levels. At each level, teachers receive formal acknowledgement of their competency.

ICT Certificate Describes and recognises a base level for teacher ICT use
Digital Pedagogy Licence

Acknowledges teachers who effectively integrate ICT into teaching and learning

Digital Pedagogy Licence Advanced

Acknowledges teachers who make ICT integral to teaching and learning, and demonstrate leadership of same within schools

Staff who achieve a Digital Pedagogy Licence are eligible to undertake the optional assessment to gain academic credit through the Professional Development Pathways.

Delivery

Pathway 1: ICT Curriculum Integration Course - Course is facilitated and runs for 10 weeks.

Pathway 2
: Regional Workshops - Contact the Regional Technology Manager to find out more about the workshops.

Pathway 3
: Independent - Suitable to those who believe they already meet the Digital Pedagogy Licence indicators; and/or have undertaken other professional development to help them meet the indicators of the licence, including the Digital Pedagogy Pack and other Smart Classrooms Digital Pedagogies initiatives. Independent submissions require a portfolio review fee of $165 (GST inclusive).

Assessment

Participants have the option of undertaking the Digital Pedagogy Licence Assessment (new window) 171k Adobe PDF document. Upon successful completion of the course and the assessment, participants will be provided with a voucher for academic credit towards a Masters or similar postgraduate qualification.

Assessment: $320 (GST inc) per person
(until 30 June 2010 assessment costs will be paid by Professional Development Unit)
