Developing Performance - a step-by-step guide to the Developing Performance conversation and plan template for public servants
The step-by-step guide Microsoft® Word document360K is designed to be used by public servant team members in conjunction with the Developing Performance conversation and plan template. Team members are encouraged to read the step-by-step guide, reflect on their work and respond on the Developing Performance conversation and plan template.

Schools and work units are encouraged to modify the templates to ensure they suit their needs. It is recommended that a consistent template be used in a workplace to ensure a common understanding and experience of the Developing Performance process.

It is important that the Developing Performance conversation and plan template includes information about key work tasks, identified areas for improvement through reference to the relevant capability framework, capability development actions to achieve performance, development, and career aspirations and goals.

Senior Executive Service and Senior Officers
The Senior Executive Service (SES) Performance and Development Framework External Link, designed to drive performance and accountability in the Queensland Public Service, was introduced in July 2012.

For 2013-14 the scope has been broadened to cover all sector Chief Executive and SES equivalents, so will now be the Executive Performance and Development Framework Adobe PDF document External Link (the Framework). The Framework provides the foundations for strong service delivery aligned to the current government priorities.

Templates External Link are available on the Public Service Commission's website.

In DETE, the Executive Performance and Development Framework cascades to Senior Officers using SES templates External Link. (Endorsed by Executive Management Group, 18 September 2012).

This cascades further to all DETE public servant employees through the Developing Performance Framework (using the Developing Performance - Conversation and Plan Template Microsoft® Word document333K) to ensure consistency and alignment of performance management.
