DET's organisational performance is directly related to the competence and capacity of the senior executive. Senior leaders articulate the organisation's strategic intent, ensure current leaders contribute to the achievement of that intent, and identify and develop other leaders who will also shape the future of the organisation.
The Queensland State Education 2010 strategy identifies the cultural shifts required to achieve the identified goals. The connection between the Professional Standards for Executives and the cultural shifts required to achieve this desired future are paramount.
The Executive Capabilities Framework (new window) 90k
outlines the knowledge, skills and behaviours that senior officers and executive officers require in order to achieve success in their roles and deliver the goals of the organisation.
The Framework will provide a basis for succession planning, recruitment, selection, performance and development at the executive level.
