Since 1999 the Department of Education and Training has offered the Bid O 'Sullivan Teaching Scholarships annually to assist Year 12 students from rural and remote areas (new window) 218k

Each scholarship is valued at $20,000 (before tax). Payments of $2,500 (before tax) are made every semester following successful completion of the previous semester's assessments.
Following satisfactory completion of their course and gaining appropriate suitability ranking, scholarship recipients are guaranteed permanent employment with the Department in Queensland State schools with a transfer/RAIS rating (new window) 436k
of 4 or higher for a period equivalent to the time taken to complete their degree.
