Classrooms are populated with a diverse group of students who have a broad range of learning needs. The Summit on Inclusive Education (29-31 May 2002) defined inclusive education as 'a process of responding to the uniqueness of individuals, increasing: their presence, access, participation, and achievement in a learning society'.
Queensland school personnel are committed to the provision of quality education, support and services to all students, including Students with Disabilities. This link provides disability specific information for teachers to assist with reducing the barriers to learning for students with a disability.
Students with Special Health Needs also provide diversity in the classroom. This is an area where consultation and team work may be required to support a student within the program.
