Planning, Performance and Improvement

A planning, performance and improvement cycle operates at various levels. At a whole of government level, departments report through the budget cycle and their ministerial portfolio statements against their planning and performance. This ensures alignment with whole of government and corporate priorities. The department also develops a strategic plan to outline its key areas of activity and the annual report provides a further opportunity to document the department's progress against each activity.
