Planning, Performance and Improvement
A planning, performance and improvement cycle operates at various levels. At a whole of government level, departments report through the budget cycle and their ministerial portfolio statements against their planning and performance. This ensures alignment with whole of government and corporate priorities. The Department of Education and the Arts also develops a strategic plan to outline its key areas of activity and the annual report provides a further opportunity to document the department's progress against each activity.
Queensland State Education - 2010 (QSE - 2010) and Destination 2010 provide the strategic directions for the state school system and the School Improvement and Accountability Framework (SIAF) provides the basis for planning, reporting and improvement work for Queensland state schools.
