Early Childhood Associations and Organisations
Within Queensland there are a number of associations and organisations with an active interest in or representation of early education and care.
- Department of Communities

The Department of Communities is a Queensland Government agency committed to promoting and supporting excellence in the delivery of human services to Queenslanders including the provision of childcare services.
- Early Childhood Australia

Early Childhood Australia (ECA) is the peak early childhood advocacy organisation, acting in the interests of young children, their families and those in the early childhood field. ECA advocates to ensure quality, social justice and equity in all issues relating to the education and care of children from birth to eight years. ECA's quality-assured publications program is a major tool in their advocacy for young children.
- Early Childhood Teachers Association

ECTA Inc. supports members of the early childhood professional community, whose career is about working with young children and families in preschools, kindergartens, child care centres, primary schools and so on. ECTA aim to provide opportunities for early childhood professionals to develop further their understanding and practice of quality in education for young children.
- Creche and Kindergarten Association of Queensland

C&K is a non-government organisation in the early childhood sector committed to supporting the provision of quality early childhood education and care in Queensland. The Association advocates for young children and provides community early childhood services.
- Isolated Children's Parents' Association

The Isolated Children's Parents' Association provides support advice and advocacy for parents in isolated communities. It is a voluntary national parent body dedicated to ensuring that all geographically isolated students have equality with their non-isolated peers, of access to an appropriate education.
- Queensland Council of Parents and Citizens Associations

The Queensland Council of Parents and Citizens' Associations Inc is a community organisation which represents the interests of state school Parents and Citizens Associations throughout Queensland. It has a history of more than 50 years. Approximately 1300 P&C Associations are affiliated.
- Queensland Teachers' Union

The QTU acts as the voice of more than 36,000 teachers in the Queensland Government's preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, senior colleges, TAFE colleges and other educational facilities.
- Queensland Independent Education Union

QIEU is an organising union which works to improve the lives of nearly 11 000 members in the non-government education sector. QIEU represents employees in the non-government education sector such as Teachers, School Officers, Principals, Kindergarten and Preschool Teachers and Assistants, Teachers and Instructors in Business Colleges, Teachers and Instructors in any private enterprise educational institution, Services Staff (including grounds people, gardeners & tuckshop convenors, some exceptions apply) and Associate Members (retired members and undergraduate students)
- Multi-Age Association of Queensland

This association promotes and advocates the use of the multi-age philosophy and provides practical support for teachers wanting to implement a multi-age approach in their schools and classrooms.
