A Local Chaplaincy Committee (LCC) is an advisory body to the principal of a school for the development and implementation of the school chaplaincy program. This committee should meet at least once a term and more often if needed.
Membership of the LCC includes at least:
The LCC should be representative of the diversity of religious, faith and non-religious beliefs in the school community and should understand the cultural and religious customs and needs of the individuals and groups within the school and the range of support services that are currently available and/or required.
The LCC nominates the AEA when a paid chaplain is to be engaged.
The LCC nominates a suitable person, accredited by an appropriate local leader, when a volunteer chaplain is to be engaged.
