Relevant Information - Guide for Authorised Officers

Information shared by authorised officers of Education Queensland when:

given to Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) will generally be relevant if the holder reasonably believes it will assist the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) in
- assessing
- investigating, or
- responding to needs of a child in need of protection.
shared with another government or non-government service provider will generally be relevant
if it may help provider to:
- decide whether to give information to the chief executive of Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) about suspected harm or risk of harm to a child
- respond to an incident report
- assess or respond to health, educational or care needs of a child in need of protection
- make plans or decisions relating to, or provide services to, a child in need of protection or his/her family.
shared with others at range of meetings to collaboratively develop an Education Support Plan for each student in care of state. This individual plan is developed to enhance the student 's academic performance, engagement in school life and well being which is reviewed at regular intervals by student, teachers and carers.
shared with others as part of collaborative planning at Suspected Child Abuse and Neglect (SCAN) meetings.

student achievement information
student attendance records/patterns of attendance
social and emotional development
behaviour (including suspensions and/or exclusions)
peer relationships
parental/carer involvement with child/school/staff
indicators (physical/emotional/behavioural) of abuse or neglect
school concerns
individual welfare
Education Support Plan
actions implemented by principal/guidance officer/teacher to monitor ongoing wellbeing, participation and education status of student.
