Behaviour at schools is a major issue in boys' education. It impacts on how safe students feel, how happily and directly they engage with schooling, and how well they learn, both academically and socially.
School communities often recognise that gender is a key element, noting that many more boys than girls display difficult behaviours such as physical aggression. An understanding of how gender construction can contribute to such behaviours helps schools to develop consistent, effective approaches to behaviour management for all students.
