2009 Allied Health (Therapy) Scholarships

The Department of Education and Training (DET) is offering scholarships to allied health students studying physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech-language pathology courses.

This is the third year in which DET will offer these exciting scholarships with a total of thirteen scholarships valued at $7500 each available this year.

DET is inviting applications from full-time, final year university students if they are:

an Australian resident or have permanent residency
studying an approved Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Pathology or Occupational Therapy course and
achieving sound academic results.

The Department strives to lay strong educational foundations for all children and adolescents including those with disabilities, and welcomes applications from allied health students who are willing to work in specified Education Queensland schools following graduation.

Successful applicants will be guaranteed a position with the Department of Education and Training and are bonded for a period of one (1) year.

How to apply

To apply for an Allied Health (Therapy) Scholarship you must submit:

A completed Application Form (new window) 70k
A written statement of no more than 1,000 words that describes your motivation for choosing a career as a therapist with the Department of Education and Training and your potential contribution to a school community
A copy of your academic results to date
A Referee Statement - this is a statement from a referee relating to your character, communication skills and involvement in any activities
Contact details of two referees who agree to endorse your application.
A Curriculum Vitae.
