Education Support Plans

A central component of the collaborative planning process between the Department of Education and Training and the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) is the development of an Education Support Plan for each child and young person in care.

An Education Support Plan identifies the educational goals of the child or young person in care and identifies strategies and resources needed to achieve these goals. The school principal or nominee is responsible for the development, monitoring and review of the Education Support Plan. The plan is reviewed annually, or more often if the circumstances of the child or young person change significantly.
