Vocational Placements

Policy and procedures for arranging Vocational Placements
Arranging Vocational Placements

Vocational placement is where a student is placed in a workplace to receive practical training and experience that is required under, and is an assessable part of, a student's course, leading to the issuing of a qualification or statement of attainment.

NB Structured work placement is not vocational placement.

The Department of Education, Training and Employment is no longer involved in vocational placement. Registered training organisations (RTOs) must continue to ensure full compliance of qualifications and accredited courses that require vocational placement. A guide to vocational placement for Queensland registered training organisations External Link has been developed to provide RTOs with more information.
