News

The Queensland Studies Authority (QSA) is conducting a revision of the Year 2 Diagnostic Net. Processes for implementation in state schools remain the same in 2008.

What is happening for the revision of the Year 2 Diagnostic Net?

The purpose of the revision is to align the Year 2 Net with the new Essential Learnings for Mathematics and English identified for the end of Year 3, and with the new Prep curriculum. The revision is informed by the trial of draft materials during 2007 and feedback received from schools about these materials.

What does this mean for teachers?

In 2008, teachers in Years 1, 2, & 3 will continue to monitor children against the existing continua for literacy and numeracy, and meet current requirements for validation and reporting. Teachers in the Prep Year will continue to use the Early Learning Record.

When will the revision be completed?

The revision will be completed during 2008. After this, Education Queensland will advise schools about time lines for implementing the new materials.
