Education leaders are increasingly looking beyond their own borders for evidence of the most successful education policies and practices. Indeed, in a global economy, success is no longer measured against national standards alone, but against the best-performing and most rapidly improving education systems. Shanghai (China) and Singapore are investing heavily in education reform and renewal and are leading the world in educational performance of students as indicated in the 2012 PISA results .
World Class Education - Shanghai and Singapore offers 20 education leaders the opportunity to connect with and learn from leading education institutions and high performing schools. These opportunities will enable participants to engage in dialogue with leading thinkers, policy planners and educators. Connecting with high performing school systems in Shanghai and Singapore will allow education leaders to identify effective policies that they can adapt to their local contexts in advancing education for global schools.
This study program will be fully funded by the Department of Education and Training and will be led by Dr Jim Watterston, Director-General, Department of Education and Training.
