Behaviour Support Personnel

Allocated numbers of behaviour support staff are deployed according to enrolments and based on an assessment of each region's need for behaviour services.

Each region manages the deployment of staff in the best interests of students within the region. This allows for flexibility and responsiveness in addressing emerging needs and changing patterns of behaviour.

Part of the role of the 290 FTE behaviour management support staff across the state is to help to provide alternative education programs, and to coordinate their provision by other organisations. Flexible staffing has expanded the range of personnel to include teachers, psychologists, guidance officers, teacher aides and parent liaison officers. These staff improve the educational outcomes of students through preventative problem solving and intensive levels of support.

For further information, contact the appropriate regional office.
