Working Together Against Bullying

The Working Together Against Bullying activities emphasise that effective solutions to bullying and violence in schools can only be achieved through the collective action of schools, students, parents and the wider community.

Announcement: QSAAV 2011 report released

The 2011 Keeping Queensland Schools Safe Adobe PDF document 328k report by the Queensland Schools Alliance Against Violence (QSAAV) was released on 15 March 2012.

The 2011 QSAAV report summarises the progress made towards implementing the eight recommendations from QSAAVs 2010 report as well as the key themes from the research and analysis conducted by Dr Carr-Gregg and Professor Paul Mazerolle. QSAAV has also produced two new resources: template fact sheets for communicating with parents and students about knives and a downloadable summary of cybersafety resources.

Announcement: New anti-bullying videos for teachers and students

A new series of short videos called Quick Tips for Teachers and Students about Bullying presented by Dr Michael Carr-Gregg has been released to support the Working Together Against Bullying resources.

Announcement: QSAAV reconvened

On 15 July 2011, the former Minister for Education and Industrial Relations, the Honourable Cameron Dick MP announced that he had reconvened the Queensland Schools Alliance Against Violence and that the Alliance would be supported by two experts, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg and Professor Paul Mazerolle who have been commissioned to examine the use of mobile phones and other mobile communication devices in schools and the use of weapons in schools. The reconvened Queensland Schools Alliance Against Violence will review the progress that has been made towards implementing the recommendations from the 2010 report and consider the findings from Dr Carr-Gregg and Professor Mazerolle and provide advice to the Minister on the best way forward.

Announcement: Register now to implement eSmart Schools cybersafety framework for 2012

On 14 March 2011, the former Minister for Education and Industrial Relations, the Honourable Cameron Dick MP announced an agreement to partner with the Alannah and Madeline Foundation (AMF) to offer the eSmart Schools cybersafety framework to Queensland state schools. For more information visit the cybersafety webpage.

Queensland state schools can register to participate in eSmart schools by completing the Registration Form on AMF's eSmart website.
