Information for approved instructors

How can I become an approved instructor to provide religious instruction in a state school?

As a person who wishes to provide religious instruction as a representative of a faith group you need to be accredited by the relevant religious leader.

The religious leader needs to ensure that you have completed the Working with Children Check and have been issued a blue card. The leader will also advise you of the process to become an approved instructor for the faith group.

Ensure that you are familiar with all relevant policies of Education Queensland which are obligatory for all volunteers providing programs to students.

Where can I get training to provide religious instruction for my faith group?

The religious instruction website contains information about training opportunities provided by various faith groups for persons delivering their programs of religious instruction.

What can I teach and when?

The program provided by approved instructors is restricted to that authorised by the local faith group/s you are representing. Approved instructors must adhere to the authorised program. This program is delivered to students during the time allocated by the principal for right-of-entry religious instruction.
