More Support for Students with Disabilities

The More Support for Students with Disabilities (MSSWD) National Partnership External Link was a Commonwealth Government initiative from 2012-2015, aiming to ensure Australian schools and teachers were better able to support students with disability.

What were the outcomes?

Through the MSSWD National Partnership (MSSWD NP) initiative, the department implemented 15 discrete projects across six National Partnership Outputs. Seven regional implementation teams engaged over 95% of Queensland state schools with more than 44,000 staff having participated in one or more of the offered programs by December 2015. The positive engagement, commitment and dedication of the workforce enabled the substantial overachievement of Queensland's benchmarks as provided to the Australian Government.

Following on from the MSSWD NP, the department is continuing a number of programs and initiatives to promote evidence-based inclusive practices and build teacher capabilities:
