Services for AVTs

The main role of the AVT is to support school staff in enabling students with disability to access and participate in the curriculum. The way this is achieved may vary from district to district and from school to school.

AVTs work across all government schools and a number of non-government schools. Non-government schools are able to access advisory visiting teachers in the area of vision impairment, hearing impairment and physical impairment on the basis of Education Queensland's EAP guidelines.
