Chaplaincy Services

Chaplaincy policy

The policy SCM-PR-012: Chaplaincy Services in Queensland State Schools, identifies accountabilities and procedures for principals of state schools, who in consultation with local communities and with the support of the Parents and Citizens' Association, implement chaplaincy services as a community initiative; includes processes for developing and implementing a school's chaplaincy program and accompanying documentation including procedure for appointing a paid or volunteer chaplain to deliver a program of chaplaincy services.

This policy applies regardless of source of funding.

State Government Chaplaincy/Pastoral Program

Funds are provided to eligible schools to engage, through a community organisation, the services of a chaplain, pastoral care coordinator, youth worker, Youth Support Coordinator or other type of support worker to provide direct support to vulnerable students. 131 primary and secondary schools Microsoft® Word document 130k in low socio-economic areas with enrolments over 100 students were allocated funding under the program.
