Information Sharing

Disclosing student personal information to the Queensland Police Service

Employees of the Department of Education and Training may share student personal information with officers of the Queensland Police Service under limited circumstances. These circumstances are outlined in SMS-PR-037: Disclosing Personal Student Information with the Queensland Police Service. Employees must refer to this policy before sharing student personal information.

Information sharing under the Child Protection Act 1999

The Child Protection Act 1999 enables DET to give relevant information to, and receive information from, other government departments, non-government entities and service providers when this information pertains to a child in need of protection.

Education Queensland's policy and procedures for sharing information for child protection purposes are outlined in SMS-PR-018: Information Sharing Under the Child Protection Act 1999.
