Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Education
The IESIP-SRA grant provides supplementary assistance to state schools with indigenous Australian student populations to progress educational outcomes for these students. A
review of the IESIP-SRA funding methodology was completed in mid-October and the recommendations of the report have subsequently been endorsed by the Minister.
The Bandscales for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Learners project was developed in response to the Review of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education in Queensland State Schools 1999. It recommended developing processes which enable the tracking of literacy achievement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
In March 2000, Education Queensland launched the Partners for Success Strategy for the Continuous Improvement of Outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in Education Queensland.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Career Aspirations Pathways Program (AICAPP) is a program implemented to address some of the key long-term education and employment issues of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. It involves the development of a model career guidance and education program that is designed to meet the interests and aspirations of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their communities.
