Culture Clash:
What have been the effects of colonisation on indigenous peoples? An inquiry module for Level 4 SOSE.
The focus of this module is on the cultures of a variety of indigenous societies and who those cultures were affected, and are still being affected, by the global phenomena of colonisation and de-colonisation. In particular, students will reflect on the impact on the personal identity of individuals within those cultures. This background will enable them to consider campaigns for human rights for many indigenous peoples, and the contemporary push for reconciliation in Australia and elsewhere.
