Queensland School Curriculum Council - "Studies of Society and Environment Curriculum Development Project" - has developed Years1 to 10 Studies of Society and Environment Syllabus and associated curriculum materials including sourcebook guidelines, initial in-service materials and sourcebook modules for the Key Learning Area of SOSE. It provides a continua of learning through core learning outcomes and supports planning for learning and assessment.
SOSE explores environmental, cultural, economic and political systems in a variety of times and places. The major focus of SOSE is the study of human interaction in a variety of places and times and cultures. SOSE encourages young people to be active participants in their world.
YMCA - "YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament" - a youth development and citizenship education program run by the YMCA that places young people from across Qld in the role of a Member of Parliament to learn about the parliamentary process and impact upon it.
