Tomorrow's Schools

Queensland students deserve access to a world-class education that gives them the skills, knowledge and creativity they need to reach their greatest potential.

The $1 billion Tomorrow's Schools package, announced in the 2006-07 Budget, is the largest one-off investment in education.

It focuses on modernising our schools that are in need of major renewal, and giving Queenslanders the chance to shape the future of education in their local community.

The Tomorrow's Schools package includes:

$850 million five-year State Schools of Tomorrow initiative for major state school renewal and creating 21^st century schools
An unprecedented degree of parent and local community involvement in shaping the future of schools in their area
$50 million School Community Development Fund shared amongst all state schools for projects that improve school learning environments
$100 million one-off contribution to Queensland's non-state school sector to improve school facilities
