Community Consultation

A community-led process

The Department of Education, Training and the Arts has appointed Sagacity Consulting to run an independent community consultation program and develop a community-driven educational vision and facilities concept plan for the Inala area.

Sagacity Consulting will work with local school communities and interested residents from August to November to develop the vision and plan. The final proposal will be submitted to the Queensland government for consideration in December 2007.

What is an educational vision and facilities concept plan?

An educational vision is a description of the educational opportunities we want for our students over the next 20 years.

A facilities concept plan is a plan that describes the facilities required to achieve the educational vision.

To develop the vision and plan, everyone in the community is invited to share their views about:

Community reference group

A community reference group will act for the local community. The group will include representatives from each of the schools, supported by consultants and staff from the Department of Education, Training and the Arts. As they work together to develop the new vision and plan for state education in Inala, the community reference group will consider submissions and feedback from the broader community, social and demographic data, and information about the status of state school facilities in the area. Reports from the meetings are available here.
