How to create weblinks

Objective

The ability to create a link that connects you to a page outside your website. These links start with http://www .

Creating a weblink is to give your audience a connection to a particular page or website that relates to your site.

Click on components > weblinks > weblink categories

This step allows us to create a category with a description.

Fill out the category details, title, name and description.

Click on components > weblinks > weblink items

Click on the new icon on the right hand side to create your link.

Fill out the following details taking special note of the name, category, URL and description. Click to save.

Click on menu > main menu

Find your new link you created in the lefthand list.
Select the box next to the link
On the top of the lists there are headings displayed as menu item, published, reorder, order, access, itemid, type and CID.
The icons displayed under the published heading allows the link to be published. Click on the icon inline with your new link.

Refresh your home page and click on the new link.

The weblink you created should link to an external site.

Important to check and test the external site to copy the URL from the address bar so you know that this is the correct link.
It should start with http://www.***.com.au ECT.
