Manage Calendar categories and users

 Objectives:

  1. Log into the Admin panel

    Log into Joomla as an administrator by going to http://yourschool.eq.edu.au/wcms/administrator

    or by clicking on the Administrator link on the Main Menu.

  2. Create new filter Categories

    1. Open Components > JEvents to view the JEvent CPanel (control panel).

    2. Click on Manage Categories then the New button on the next page.

    3. In the new Categories window:

      • Enter Sports in the Title.
      • Click the Choose Colour link and select bright red.
      • Click the Save button (top-right) to create the new Category.

      • View your new Category in the index (repeat step 3 to create more as required).

      • Click the CPanel button (top-right) to return to the CPanel.
  3. Add a school user with Calender edit permission

    1. Click the Authorised Users button in the CPanel.

      Click Authorised users to add users who can edit the calendar

    2. Create an edit Calender new user profile

      • Note: users will need to log into the website Members Area before they will appear in the "User" dropdown list.

      • Select a user from the dropdown list.
      • Fill out the calendar access permissions for the user as required.
      • Ensure "Yes" is selected for most of the edit user options.

    3. Click Save button (top-right) to save the user profile and return to the CPanel.

    4. This user can now log into the Members Area on the website - go to the calender and add events according to the settings you selected.

    5. To add more Calendar editors repeat steps 1-3 as needed.

  4. Log out as required
