Embedded Google map

Objectives

• Create an embedded Google map showing your school location
  • Retrieve Google map code for your school
  • Add the code to a Joomla location page

Retrieve your Google map code

1. Using a web browser navigate to google.com
2. Click on the maps link
3. Type in your school location or name - click to search
   
4. Click the "Link" button at the top-right of the page
5. Highlight and copy the code from the "Paste HTML to embed in website" text field

Add the code to a Joomla location page

1. In Joomla, log in as Administrator
2. Go to "Content>Article Manager"
3. Edit the article titled "Location/Map" (if it doesn't exist, you will have to create it)
4. In the text editor select "source"
   
5. Paste the code you copied from Google
6. Click "Source" again to revert to the page view
7. A Google map should now appear
