FTP into school web-space

Objective:

  1. Reset the school FTP login account in the MIS
  2. Test logging into the school website

Open the MIS portal (MIS administrator only)

  1. Using a web browser open  http://mis.eq.edu.au/
  2. Log in with your administrator account
  3. Browse to "Administration >> Manage User >> Password Reset"
  4. Select the "MIS ID" radio button
  5. Enter the school FTP user account - "webusr.XXXX"
    • Review the MIS manual - 8.2.4 for further information or... 
    • Contact "Web Publishing" via the Service Centre for further information
  6. Click "Select" (this will pull up your FTP login account)
  7. Reset the password to something secure
    •  Warning:do not email this password as this is NOT secure...
  8. Log out of the MIS

FTP into your school website

  1. Using a web browser - navigate to you school website
  2. Copy the path - Remove the http:// and change to ftp.
    • from http://schooldomain.eq.edu.au/
    • to ftp.schooldomain.eq.edu.au
  3. Using and FTP program (e.g. fillzilla - ws_ftp - cuteFtp)
    • Enter connection address as: ftp.schooldomain.eq.edu.au
    • Enter account as: "webusr.XXXX" (XXXX = school code)
    • Enter password as: (what you set it to...)
  4. Click "connect" to open you to your school webspace

Warning: These files are "live" and should not be deleted without accurate knowledge as to whether the files are required

Special Note: If using a Joomla! site, the folder holding the installation is hidden to maintain the integrity of the installation.

All access to Joomla! content is to be maintained via the "Members Area" login or the "Admin Panel" login.
