Objective:

  1. Log in as administrator

Log into Joomla as an administrator by going to:
    http://yourschool.eq.edu.au/wcms/administrator
or by clicking on the Administrator link in your menu.

  2. Get the URL for the page

    Go to Article Manager.

    Article Manager

Locate the item in the list you wish to link to. To the right of the item there will be an ID number. Make note of this.

    Item Id number

The path for any uncategorised content item in Joomla is

    http://yourschool.eq.edu.au/wcms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=X

Where yourschool is your school's domain name and X is the ID number that you noted earlier. Copy the above URL, paste into a text editor such as Word or notepad, and customise the URL with these two pieces of information.

    EG:  http://www.krugerss.eq.edu.au/wcms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=64

  3. Create your link

Open up the page you would like the link to appear on for editing. Highlight the relevant text and click on the Insert/Edit link button.

Select text and click link symbol

Paste the URL (copied in step 2) into the Link URL box. Click Insert.

  4. After saving the file, you will have a link pointing to the other page.

Test your link to ensure it is working.
