If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions then why not join a new network that the department is piloting aimed at supporting staff with disability!
During 2009, Workforce Disability Networks are being piloted in both the Wide-Bay Burnett Region and in Brisbane. Initial workshops have now been held to give staff an opportunity to discuss what the network in their local area will "look like" and how it might work to support people with disability within the department.
The networks hope to attract staff passionate about supporting people with disability and have been established to discuss issues directly related to disability workforce management and staffing.
So, whether you work for Education or Training you are invited to join these networks.

Do you work in the Wide Bay Region?
The workshop to form the Workforce Disability Network in the Wide Bay Region was successfully held on 11 February 2009 at The Hervey Bay Boat Club, Buccaneer Drive, Urangan. Sixteen participants attended. These participants joined in discussions about the issues facing people with disability, their achievements, their expectations for the Network and future actions to ensure the ongoing success of the Network.

Do you work in Brisbane?
The workshop to form the DET Workforce Disability Network in the Brisbane Region was successfully held on 11 March 2009 at Education House, 30 Mary Street, Brisbane. Twenty people attended. Some highlights from the meeting include:
- Defining the purpose of the network
- Renaming the meeting to DET Workforce Disability Network
- Identifying actions and setting the agenda for the first meeting
