Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff interested in participating on recruitment and selection panels are invited to attend a one off Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander selection panel workshop to be held on Thursday, 1 September 2011.
Once participants have completed the training they are qualified to sit on DET recruitment panels. A list of these trained panel members is available through the Diversity Unit.
The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Employment Action Plan 2010-2013 [an error occurred while processing this directive] encourages increased representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers within Queensland Government. However, the recruitment and selection process for certain positions requires participation of an Indigenous Australian on the selection panel.
For this reason, a training workshop focussing on the specific requirements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workers will be held for interested staff, at no cost.
The one-day Recruitment and Selection for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Panel Members workshop is targeted at staff who:
