Principal Induction SIMposium

Purpose

To assist schools with the replacement of their principal to attend the Principal Induction SIMposium program.

The Principal Induction SIMposium program aims to ensure that newly appointed principals have the skills and knowledge needed to drive school improvement. The program will be run in two phases and will build the expertise and confidence to lead and manage their school.

Eligibility

State schools (Band 5 or 6 with a teaching component to the principal's role).

Allocation of funds

Principals are nominated by their Assistant Regional Director (ARD).

Principals register online to attend and nominate for Teacher Relief Scheme (TRS).

TRS (current rate) will be paid through Conference Services to schools where attendance to the SIMposium has been confirmed.

Recoupment policy

As the payments are made in advance, a recoupment may be made if the principal cancels or doesn't attend the SIMposium.

How to apply

Principals who have been nominated by their ARD can register online to attend the SIMposium. The TRS will be provided to the school on confirmation of attendance.
