This funding supports Queensland state schools by providing financial assistance for schools and clusters with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a sustainable water safety and swimming program.
Duration of program
State primary and special schools without a swimming pool.
Allocation of funds
Funding is available for schools with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a water safety and swimming program, and that are unable to fund a program from their school budget.
Please note: To ensure equitable distribution of funding, state schools who apply and have not received funding in the past will be prioritised.
Successful applicants will receive a maximum amount of $4,000.
|Annual—on successful application*||January||Amount determined based on application process|
*Note: Successful applications will only be for the year that is applied for. If a school requires further funding in the following year/s, they will need to re-apply.
How to apply
Eligible schools can apply for funding by completing the application form and returning it to State Schools each year.
Schools need to provide as much detail as possible outlining the barriers that prevent them from implementing a water safety and swimming program. Endorsement by the principal is required for the application to be submitted.
Applications for 2023 will open on Monday 10 July 2023 and close on Friday 28 July 2023.
