To support state primary and special schools without a pool to implement a water safety and swimming program that aligns with the Australian Curriculum for students in Prep to Year 6.

Allocation of funds
Funding is available for schools with unique circumstances that present barriers to providing a water safety and swimming program, and that are unable to fund a program from their school budget.
Successful applicants will be categorised into 2 tiers.
Tier 1: Application meets all of the eligibility criteria and will receive a payment of up to $5,000.
Tier 2: Application meets some of the eligibility criteria and will receive a notional amount.

*Note: Successful applications will only be for the year that is applied for. If a school requires further funding in the following year/s, they will need to re-apply.
How to apply
Eligible schools can apply for funding by completing the application form and returning it to State Schools each year.
Schools need to provide as much detail as possible outlining the barriers that prevent them from implementing a water safety and swimming program. Endorsement by the principal is required for the application to be submitted.
